Privacy Policy
Introduction
Translate PDF Online (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website www.translatepdfonline.com and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the Service.
Contact: hello@translatepdfonline.com
By using the Service, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
-
Account information
Email address, display name, and authentication identifiers you provide when you sign in (e.g. via OAuth or email). Used to create and secure your account and communicate about the Service. -
PDF and translation content
PDF files you upload, derived files (e.g. previews, translated PDFs), and technical metadata (page counts, job IDs, timestamps). Used solely to perform translation, previews, billing (e.g. credits per page), and support. -
Usage and technical data
Log data, approximate device/browser type, IP address (for security and abuse prevention), and interaction events. Used to operate, secure, and improve the Service. -
Cookies and similar technologies
Session and preference cookies (and local storage where used) to keep you signed in and remember settings. You can control cookies through your browser. -
Payment-related information
When you purchase credits or subscriptions, payment processing is performed by our payment partner Creem. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We receive from Creem (or your wallet flow) limited data such as transaction status, product identifiers, subscription IDs, and masked payment references as needed for billing and accounting.
Payment processor (Creem)
We use Creem to process payments. Creem collects and processes payment data according to its own policies. We recommend reading Creem’s privacy documentation on their official website: https://www.creem.io.
We share with Creem only the information necessary to initiate and reconcile payments (e.g. amount, currency, product ID, customer email where required by Creem).
How we use information
- Provide translation features, previews, and downloads
- Manage accounts, credits, subscriptions, and invoices
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
- Communicate service-related notices
We do not sell your personal information.
Legal bases (summary)
Depending on your region, we may rely on contract (providing the Service you request), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), legal obligation, and, where required, consent (e.g. non-essential cookies).
Retention
- Translated files and related objects in object storage (e.g. Cloudflare R2) are scheduled for automatic deletion after approximately seven (7) days, unless we are required to retain them longer by law or you have an open dispute that reasonably requires retention.
- Account and billing records may be retained longer as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal compliance (typically in line with statutory limitation periods).
- Logs are retained for a limited period for security and operations.
Retention practices may evolve; material changes will be reflected in this policy.
International transfers
We may process data in multiple countries (including via Cloudflare and cloud providers). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) compatible with applicable law.
Security
We use HTTPS for data in transit and reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability or to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights, contact hello@translatepdfonline.com. We may need to verify your identity.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children.
Third-party services
Besides Creem, we may use infrastructure and analytics providers (e.g. Cloudflare, hosting, AI API providers such as DeepSeek for translation). Those providers process data only as needed to deliver their services, under their terms and privacy policies.
Open-source components
Our stack may include open-source software (e.g. layout and PDF tooling). Use of such software does not by itself expand the personal data practices described here; see our documentation for transparency on upstream projects and licenses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and adjust the date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires additional steps.
